Country Club of Indianapolis

Golf 500Indianapolis’ first country club and one of the nation’s earliest, Country Club of Indianapolis offers golfers a challenging yet fun experience. The award-winning design and subsequent redesigns in the early 1990s provide a memorable round of golf regardless of skill level.

Golf was introduced to the country club in 1897, six years after it opened. Golf replaced tennis and indoor bowling as the main attraction and remains the mainstay today. Its setting grants a unique design and course layout without sacrificing the natural terrain.

Hillcrest Country Club

At Hillcrest Country Club, golfers of any experience level must overcome challenges of both the physical and mental varieties. The course was designed in the 1920s by famed architect Bill Diddel. Diddel was known for his strategic school course plans, which provide a manicured feel with respect for a natural landscape.

The course is lined with trees and features greens of varying speeds, encouraging golfers to contemplate their club selection when aiming for the pin. Check out their Facebook page to view the course’s beauty or to see what others have to say about their experience.

Saddlebrook Golf Club

Golf2 500Saddlebrook Golf Club is housed on a 152-acre plot of land just northwest of Indianapolis. As a public course, it is relatively new, having opened in the early 1990s. The designers wanted to challenge golfers, new and old.

This is why the front nine offers an open landscape granting an aggressive, open-minded gameplay while the back nine offers an abundance of trees and narrower angles demanding focus and creativity to finish out the round.

No matter which hole you’re on, you’ll be able to enjoy a picturesque backdrop to your shots. Give Saddlebrook’s Facebook page a look to read reviews, view photos, and see what’s happening on the green.
